Do you know what happens if you eat figs and olives together? Miracle!
A recent article claimed a Japanese team discovered a powerful health synergy between figs and olives. These fruits are already known for their antioxidant properties and essential nutrients. Could combining them unlock even greater health benefits?
The team has extracted "metalloids" from the mixture of figs and olives. Metalloids are semi-metals and non-metals from a chemical series characterized by specific ionization and bonding properties. These semi-metals have properties that lie between metals and non-metals and are responsible for maintaining body freshness, vitality, and youthfulness.
Benefits of Figs and Olives
This article highlights several benefits derived from the elements found in figs and olives. Interestingly, figs and olives possess fat-burning properties and facilitate this process. Moreover, consuming 7 olives and 1 fig together provides a total of 100 calories, which corresponds to the energy you need throughout the day.
Fig
Fig is a fruit that holds significant medicinal properties and is entirely edible without any waste. It is known to relieve constipation and its delicate and easily digestible nature. In traditional medicine, figs are believed to reduce phlegmatic, cleanse the kidneys, eliminate kidney stones, cleanse the liver and spleen, and promote overall body robustness.
It is versatile in its uses, suitable for consumption in fresh or dried form, with its flesh, seeds, and skin all being edible and palatable across all age groups.
Nutritional Composition
Figs are notably rich in several essential nutrients:- Phosphorus: Figs contain a significant amount of phosphorus, which plays a crucial role in cognitive function and memory enhancement.
- Potassium: High levels of potassium in figs contribute to the health of individuals with weakened immune systems, anemia, and poor appetite.

Olive
Olives have been revered by some experts as a miraculous fruit due to their potential therapeutic benefits. They are believed to be effective in treating various diseases, including gout, arteriosclerosis, hypertension, and neuralgia.
A notable point is that among all plant and animal foods, no food item contains as much potassium as olives. Understanding the role of potassium in maintaining our health highlights the importance of including olives in our diet.
In summary, potassium is crucial for building body muscles and providing energy, as well as for the synthesis of internal gland secretions that are essential for maintaining energy and vitality. Conversely, potassium deficiency can halt growth, cause swelling of tissues, and disrupt respiratory function.
Potassium also plays a significant role in the liver's detoxification processes, enhancing its ability to remove toxic substances like urea and uric acid from the bloodstream more effectively.
Potassium plays a fundamental role in the renal excretory function, enhancing kidney function and facilitating the removal of toxic substances from the blood. Therefore, potassium is considered both a medicine and a treatment for kidney diseases. Potassium is essential for the structure, function, formation, and maintenance of red blood cells (erythrocytes).
In addition to potassium, olives contain other essential minerals such as phosphorus, calcium, magnesium, and iron, each playing significant and constructive roles in our well-being. These minerals are vital for sustaining life and maintaining overall health.
Therapeutic properties of Figs and Olives
Figs and olives possess numerous therapeutic properties that contribute to overall bodily health. Some of these properties include:
- Cardiovascular Health: Daily consumption of olives helps reduce blood pressure, lower LDL cholesterol levels, and increase HDL cholesterol levels. Figs, being rich in dietary fiber, also contribute to improved cardiovascular function by regulating blood pressure.
- Immune System Boost: Figs and olives are rich in antioxidants, which enhance the body's immune system and provide increased resistance against diseases and inflammations.
- Bone Health: Olives contain calcium, phosphorus, and vitamin D, which contribute to maintaining healthy bones. Similarly, figs are rich in calcium, potassium, and magnesium, which enhance bone strength.
- Reduced Risk of Various Diseases: Daily consumption of figs and olives reduces the risk of several diseases, including:
- Cancer: Protective against various types of cancer due to their antioxidant properties.

- Skin Rejuvenation: Olives possess high antioxidant properties, contributing to skin rejuvenation.
- Depression Treatment: Darker figs are particularly effective in treating conditions such as depression, neurological disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and irritability.
In addition, numerous studies in the United States have shown that consuming olives and figs together acts as a magical combination in dieting, with an extraordinary impact on brain health and weight loss. The olive and fig diet is a plant-based regimen for rapid weight loss, boosting metabolism, promoting fat burning, and slimming down.
It alleviates chronic bronchitis and allergies.
Hemorrhoids, also called piles, are swollen veins in the anus and lower rectum . Eating figs and olives together relieves constipation.
Moreover, for people sensitive to lactose, the most natural way to store calcium is by consuming figs.
The metallothionein present in olives and figs helps boost metabolism, energy levels, and vitality. Due to their strong antioxidant properties, they act as a miraculous remedy for the body.
Results of Japanese research on figs and olives
Years ago, a group of Japanese researchers were searching for plants containing the miraculous compound methionine (MT). Methionine is a family of proteins known for their antioxidant properties and their ability to bind and neutralize the toxic effects of metals in the body. After confirming that their research findings were mentioned in the Quran 1,427 years ago, the researchers embraced Islam.
Dr. Taha Ibrahim Khalifa, professor of the Faculty of Medicinal Plants at Al-Azhar University in Egypt and former president of this university, says: “The methaleutonids substance secretes human and animal brain in very small quantities."
It is is made up of protein, which itself contains sulfur, allowing it to easily combine with copper, iron, and phosphorus. It plays a crucial role in human survival, contributing to cholesterol reduction, nutritional benefits, heart strengthening, and respiratory regulation. The secretion of this substance from the human brain increases from age 15 to 35 and decreases thereafter until age 60. Consequently, this substance is not readily available in human bodies .
In other animal species, this substance is also present in very minimal amounts. Consequently, a group of Japanese scientists conducted a search for this remarkable substance, known for its anti-aging properties, among various plants. They identified this substance prominently in only two plants: figs and olives, where MT is clearly manifested.
Fig and olive in the Quran
And indeed, Allah has spoken the truth where He has said: "By the fig, and the olive, By Mount Sinai, And by this city of security (Makkah). Verily, we created man of the best stature, Then We return him to the lowest of the low."
Dr. Taha Ibrahim contemplates on the significance of fig and olive in relation to the creation of humans, from their best state to their worst. After studying the benefits, it became clear that using either figs or olives alone does not fully benefit human health, hence both should be combined together.
Japanese scientists also found that the optimal combination for the best effect is one fig and seven olives. Professor Taha Ibrahim Khalaf continued his search in the Quran and discovered that figs are mentioned once explicitly, while olives are mentioned six times explicitly and once implicitly in Surah Al-Muminun, where it says: "And [We brought forth] a tree issuing from Mount Sinai which produces oil and food for those who eat." (Surah Al-Muminun, 23:20)
Professor Ibrahim Taha compiled all the information he gathered from the Quran and sent it to the Japanese research team. After the Japanese researchers confirmed that their scientific findings aligned with what was stated in the Quran, dating back 1427 years before their discoveries, the head of the Japanese team embraced Islam and granted Dr. Taha Ibrahim Khalaf permission for this significant discovery.
Try incorporating figs and olives into your diet! Some recommend eating 7 figs every night and 7 olives every morning. Alternatively, you can enjoy 7 olives and 1 fig daily. Whichever method you choose, aim to stick with it for at least 40 days and see positive changes in your physical and mental well-being.
